My First
Eidul Adha Celebration

Come with me and my family
as we celebrate
our big holiday called Eidul Adha!
My name is Ibraheem, and I am 4 years old. My younger brother is two and his name is Imraan. We are Muslim and our special
which lasts three days.
Eidul Adha is a special holiday that celebrates the end of the Hajj. The Hajj is an important pilgrimage or trip grown-ups take to the visit the Kaabah in Holy Mosque in a city called Makkah. Long ago this house was built by a prophet named Abraham (the same name as me!) and his son, Ishmael. My grandparents went on the Hajj this year, and
when I grow up and have the opportunity,
I will go on the same pilgrimage.

Look at all the Muslims who are there all dressed in white!
On the first day of Eid, we wake up in the morning and say “Eid Mubarak” to everyone.

We shower and get dressed in our best clothes then go to our Mosque for prayers and thank God for all the blessings we have received.
At the Mosque we see our friends and say Eid Mubarak to everyone.
After prayers we leave to visit other
friends and family members.
Grown-ups give all the kids gifts or money to buy
something special for Eid!
The celebration of friends and family visiting and exchanging presents lasts for two more days.
I might ask my parents for a robot dinosaur for the
big Eid this year! My brother might want some new legos.
Eid is also a time when our parents give an amount of money to help needy people buy food and clothes
so they can also celebrate Eid.
Eid is a very special time of the year. We decorate our house with lights and my mom and I bake cookies in the shape of a
moon and a star
and share with our neighbors and friends!
Thank you for joining me in my celebration of Eidul Adha!
Eid Mubarak!
